It depends on whether you are buying or selling. At the moment on eBay, if you want to sell digital products, software, web sites, templates and the like, it is a buyers market.
Just by looking at eBay and finding in the Business for Sale Websites section, the prices that some of the web sites have sold for is disheartening for sellers. I have just had a look at one sellers' feedback and nearly all the time his items received 1 or two bids, selling for just £10.
Why is that?
There are at any one time according to research, three quarters of a million people who are looking to start their own internet business. As well as that there are well over 200 people joining eBay a week from the UK alone. With that amount of potential customers you would think that these web sites would interest a lot more bids than just one or two.
What is the problem?
It all comes down to one thing. The same web sites and templates are being sold over and over again to saturation point. There are just so many e-Book stores, lingerie web sites and console and game sites that can make the buyers a tidy profit. I know because I have bought one of these web sites, an e-Book site. After extensive advertising and submitting to search engines, I have yet to make one sale.
What is the answer?
What is needed to boost the selling market is fresh material. New templates, new programs and new websites. What is required is something that is going to grab the buyer's attention and make them sit up and bid. There has to be that little bit of extra quality of design and content that is going to get the buyers bidding against each other pushing up the price. What is needed is a new company supplying good quality material.
