Are You a "Stuckee" Job Seeker?
I work with job seekers who are often "stuckees" as I refer to them. A stuckee, by my definition is someone who can't take action on their own behalf. Any action!
The first or second job or interview rejection shuts them down. Poor self-esteem is often one of the causes of giving up.
Job seeking is often a game where new or returning job seekers don't know the rules. Much of the time risk taking is ignored. The job seeker must create their own rules, risk, and not worry about rejection.
I think one of the cures of being a "stuckee", is to have a group of people around that is accepting of the job seeker, no matter what. Supportive people are there to give hope.
How does the job seeker keep going on in the face of many rejections? The best, I've mentioned above.Another is to understand that therewill always be a change for the better. That's where hope and people get together to work towards a fulfilling job search.
Risking, plus action, and support can get the job hunter out of the most awful of stuck places!
