Back in 2004, the GAO announced that $9 Billion U.S. dollars sent to Iraq ear-marked for reconstruction vanished – simply disappeared. That’s $9 Billion with a B friends. That’s enough money to train, house, and feed every homeless American for ten years, or build 9,000 new schools, or provide full health care insurance coverage to 25 million Americans. How could this money simply evaporate into thin air? Even more puzzling is why no law enforcement agency of the U.S. government is even looking for our money. That’s right – OUR MONEY collected in tax dollars from, you, me, and our neighbors.
Considering that 20% of American children go to bed hungry every night and 40% of all Americans do not have health care benefits, and every State is screaming that they desperately need money to repair and upgrade our nation’s infrastructure, this “missing” money is a shameful disgrace, and clearly demonstrates
That thieves are at play within the Bush Administration whose cronies were exclusively awarded all the no-bid Iraq contracts.
There must be accountability for these missing funds before King George leaves office. I for one personally propose that everyone in his administration responsible for Iraq reconstruction over the time period in question be criminally charged and prosecuted for the theft until. Surely then, someone may recall what crack the $9 Billion fell through and into whose pocket. I cannot find a better classic textbook example of organized crime than this arrogant bunch of politicians who make Myer Lansky look like a boy scout.
